I did two interviews last week related to FRG:
Thank you, Anna and Joyce, for great, thoughtful questions!
Since I mentioned in the AV Club article, you may also be pleased to know that Feminist Ryan Gosling is going to be a book.
I’ll provide more details in the future, but for now I can tell you that a) I’m writing it now, b) it will be primarily new content with a few favorites from the site and c) pictures of Ryan Gosling’s face cost more than my college education to date.
Happy new year (I can still say that throughout January, right?), and, as always, thank you for being so cool.
Thank you, as always, for your very kind emails, which I promise to catch up on now that my semester is over.
Here’s some fun stuff:
• Some of the students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (full disclosure: where I currently attend and teach) made a feminist-focused blog in the style of FRG using lots of different Hollywood images. Blogging about feminism and pop culture as homework? I fully support this product and/or service.
• Elizabeth emailed me this COMPLETELY AMAZING PICTURE:
Her friend Keiran embroidered an FRG picture onto a pillow. And then gave it away. As a fellow crafter, I bow deeply to your talent and thoughtfulness.
• The comments on the post directly below this, which are hysterical.
Again, thank you for making 2011 the funniest, silliest year to of my life to date. Happiest new year’s wishes to you all.
